As a family-owned company that’s been in Dubuque for over 60 years, Hodge is committed to supporting initiatives that benefit the greater Dubuque community — specifically those that encourage members of the community to live a healthy and active lifestyle. As the founding and managing organization behind Run4Troops, a Boston-qualifying marathon/relay in Dubuque that supports local military, Hodge has always sought opportunities to share its passion for wellness with others in the community.

We hold employee wellness as a priority for our company. The opportunity to support an outdoor recreation asset that will benefit our employees and members of the community for years to come, is something we had to be a part of. Top-level award recognizes Hodge for exceptional performance.

DUBUQUE, IOWA – Hodge is honored to be a first-time platinum level winner of the UniCarriers Aftermarket Excellence Program (AEP). Each fiscal year, UniCarriers recognizes dealers who have achieved excellent performance in aftermarket parts and service.

The AEP challenges UCA dealers to excel in performance standards across eight categories, including business planning, employee training, factory support and customer satisfaction. Each category has a maximum point value that dealers can earn to reach four possible award levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. The end-result provides dealers with higher service margins, improved parts sales, more efficient work order processing, stronger customer retention, and in-turn, greater and sustained profitability.

“Achieving platinum level recognition from a strong partner like UniCarriers is really an honor,” said Todd Kintop, VP Material Handling Division. “Hodge is committed to doing whatever it takes to provide quality products and exceptional service to our customers. Aligning with a manufacturer that values those standards as well is very important for the success of our business.”

Special Tax Deduction for Qualifying Equipment Purchases

Nov 3, 2017 10:24:41 AM / by Sample HubSpot User

Invest in your business with this special tax deduction.

Now is your chance to take advantage of a special tax deduction applicable on new and used equipment purchased and put into service before the end of 2018. That means if you buy or lease a piece of equipment, you can deduct the full purchase price from your gross income.

Section 179 can provide you with significant tax relief for this 2018 tax year. But act now because in order to take the deduction for this tax year, the equipment must be financed or purchased and put into service between January 1, 2018 and the end of the day on December 31, 2018.

How does this help my business?

Usually when your business buys a piece of equipment, you get to write them off a little at a time through depreciation. So for example, if you spend $50,000 on a machine, you can write off maybe $10,000 a year for five years. Section 179 allows you write-off the entire cost of your equipment on your 2018 tax return, up to $1,000,000.

In order for Section 179 to remain a “true small business tax incentive,” the deduction begins to reduce, dollar for dollar, at $2.5 million and is completely eliminated above $3.5 million.
