The Veteran’s Freedom Center, a cornerstone of support for Tri-State military veterans, received a small boost thanks to an equipment donation from HODGE.

DUBUQUE, IA – On Tuesday, September 17, members of HODGE’s Material Handling team delivered a new electric pallet jack to the center, making work a little easier for their dedicated volunteers.

The Veteran’s Freedom Center plays a crucial role in the community by providing essential support to active duty, reserve, and honorably discharged veterans. Through their Operation We Care program, they offer a helping hand in various ways, from financial aid and housing assistance to transportation and medical support. Their efforts extend to offering refurbished wheelchairs and walkers, proving their commitment to improving the lives of veterans in need.

As a non-profit, the Veteran’s Freedom Center relies on the unwavering support of volunteers, veterans, and community partners. One of their fundraising efforts involves recycling empty cans and bottles. However, the manual pallet jack currently being used for loading these recyclables has become a challenge, especially for their long-time volunteers.

During a recent visit, HODGE’s Chief Financial Officer, Ted Boffeli, noticed this difficulty and saw an opportunity to make a difference.

“The Veteran’s Freedom Center’s work is vital to our community, and when I learned about the challenges they were facing with their manual pallet jack, I knew we could help. We’re thrilled to donate an electric pallet jack to help their operations and support their incredible mission.”
